Our current guest Katherina Heil invites you to come to A - DASH on Saturday, 16 of March, for an Open Studio. Katherina is a visual artist based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. During her work period at A - DASH the artist will work on her ongoing project “Sensory Thresholds”, where she explores scientific images and data in regard to the exploration of the universe and matter.
The third chapter “Cosmographia” originates with her habit of finding cosmic coherencies in images and objects that she collects and creates in relation to the scientific exploration of space and a holistic understanding of the universe. The artist structures them into different non-linear narratives as in poetry in contrast to a logical scientific story. She is overall interested in the two poles of science and fiction/ astronomy and mythology and how these materialise in her work.
Towards the end of her stay she will organize a symposium in which practitioners from various disciplines with a similar interest are invited to contribute to the program (more information on that event coming soon).
During the Open Studio the artist shares a selection of recent works and her current process while staying at A-Dash. While in Athens she is collaborating with the artist Rik Möhlmann (NL) to work cross media and explore both their practices in relation to the project “Sensory Thresholds”.

Η φιλοξενούμενη καλλιτέχνιδα του A-Dash Katherina Heil ανοίγει το στούντιο της και μας προσκαλεί να το επισκεφτούμε το Σάββατο 16 Μαρτίου. Η Katherina είναι εικαστικός με έδρα το Ρότερνταμ της Ολλανδίας. Κατά τη διάρκεια της παραμονής της στο A-Dash, η καλλιτέχνιδα ξεκίνησε το τρέχον έργο της “Sensory Thresholds”, όπου διερευνά επιστημονικές εικόνες και δεδομένα σχετικά με την εξερεύνηση του σύμπαντος και της ύλης.
Το τρίτο κεφάλαιο “Cosmographia” προέρχεται από τη συνήθεια της για την εύρεση κοσμικών συνεργασιών σε εικόνες και αντικείμενα που συλλέγει και δημιουργεί σε σχέση με την επιστημονική εξερεύνηση του διαστήματος και μια ολιστική κατανόηση του σύμπαντος. Η καλλιτέχνιδα δουλεύει με αυτά σε διαφορετικές μη-γραμμικές αφηγήσεις, όπως στην ποίηση, σε αντίθεση με μια λογική επιστημονική ιστορία. Γενικά ενδιαφέρεται για τους δύο πόλους της επιστήμης και της φαντασίας/αστρονομίας, της μυθολογίας και πώς αυτές υλοποιούνται στο έργο της.
Προς το τέλος Μαρτίου και της παραμονής της στο A-Dash, θα διοργανώσει ένα συμπόσιο όπου καλεσμένοι συμμετέχοντες από διαφορετικούς κλάδους θα συνεισφέρουν στο πρόγραμμα (περισσότερες πληροφορίες σύντομα).
Κατά τη διάρκεια του Open Studio, η καλλιτέχνιδα θα παρουσιάσει μια συλλογή από πρόσφατα έργα και την τρέχουσα δουλειά της κατά την παραμονή της στο A-Dash. Επίσης στην Αθήνα συνεργάζεται με τον καλλιτέχνη Rik Möhlmann (NL) διερευνώντας κοινές πρακτικές σε σχέση με το έργο “Sensory Thresholds”.
