The exhibition connects the works “The Splitting of the Chrysalis & the Slow Unfolding of the Wings” by Yorgos Yatromanolakis, and “Seeds” by Brák Jónsdóttir, engaging in dialogue about transformation and realities on the verge of the unreal. By intertwining personal journeys with broader ecological and existential themes, the artists evoke a sense of existence in a liminal state, the emergence of life, and concepts of unknown futures.
Associate Gallery is an artist-run gallery space and studio in Reykjavík, founded in 2022 by Jónsdóttir, Keys & Associates: Ástríður Jónsdóttir, Hildur Elísa Jónsdóttir and Joe Keys.
Functioning both as a creative gallery and a vibrant studio space, Associate provides a nurturing environment for emerging artists connected with Iceland, offering opportunities for solo exhibitions, concerts, workshops, and more, all while fostering playfulness and experimentation.
